3 Types Of Puncture Repair Warwick
At Castle Motor Services, we offer 3 different types of repair methods depending on the type of tyre and damage.
Plugging and Patching
This is the most commonly used repair method we use for tyres with comparatively less damages or for small puncture holes. After locating the puncture, we attach a patch on the inside of the tyres and insert a plug into the puncture hole using special tools. This seals the puncture and does not allow air to escape but is considered a temporary solution.
Sealant
In this method, we insert a special sealant(s) through the air valve inside your punctured tyres and inflate it. Then, our mechanics either rotate the tyre for a few minutes or drive your vehicle for a short distance to help the sealant distribute evenly throughout the tyre, sealing the puncture.
Epoxy
Our epoxy methods of tyre repairs Warwick involve applying a special epoxy over the punctured area. After curing it for a few minutes, the epoxy creates a waterproof seal not allowing any air to escape. Similar to our plug and patch method, our epoxy method is also applicable only on small punctures and temporarily.
Some of the signs your car requires immediate tyre puncture repair:
- Sudden loss of tyre pressure
- Wobbling/ vibrating wheels
- Compromised cornering precision
- Car pulling towards any single direction
